Die RAG Austria AG ist das größte Energiespeicherunternehmen Österreichs und gehört zu den führenden technischen Speicherbetreibern Europas. Mit Speicherkapazitäten von mehr als 6,3 Milliarden Kubikmeter Erdgas betreiben wir rund 6% aller EU-europäischen Gasspeicheranlagen. Wir sind technischer Speicherbetreiber von insgesamt elf Energiespeichern (Porenspeichern). Dazu gehören die Speicheranlagen Puchkirchen/Haag, Haidach, Haidach 5, Aigelsbrunn und der Speicherverbund 7Fields sowie die Wasserstoffspeicher in Pilsbach und Rubensdorf.
Im Leitprojekt „Underground Sun Storage 2030“ (USS 2030) wird die sichere, saisonale und großvolumige Speicherung von erneuerbarer Energie in Form von Wasserstoff in unterirdischen Gaslagerstätten entwickelt. Darüber hinaus werden alle am Projekt beteiligten Partner gemeinsam wertvolle technische und ökonomische Erkenntnisse für den Aufbau einer gesicherten Wasserstoffversorgung gewinnen.
Wasserstoff aus Sonne und Wind wird künftig in der Ukraine produziert und für den saisonalen Bedarf in Zentraleuropa gespeichert.

Seit 10. November 2020 ist die neue Plattform „Zukunft Grünes Gas“ der Österreichischen Vereinigung für das Gas- und Wasserfach (ÖVGW) und des Fachverbands der Gas- und Wärmeversorgungsunternehmungen (FGW) online. Bei der neuen Homepage steht die Aufklärung zum Thema Grünes Gas im Mittelpunkt.
